3 Ways to Style A Basic/Hoodie
Did you know the most basic clothing in your wardrobe could be tweaked to make a bomb outfit!? Well, if you don’t know you’re about to find out. I’m here to show you a few ways I personally like to style basics.
#1 Hoodie & Camel Coat Combo
A classic look that can be your basic Saturday errand running uniform, but also works for a more polished casual Friday outfit at the office.
If you are going for a more chill look, pairing a basic hoodie with matching sweatpants, a sneaker with a pop of color and sleek camel coat to bring everything together… makes magic every time.✨
If you want to kick flavor at the gig and still look professional; go for a more tailored look. The pairing is essentially the same, however you want to switch out your comfy sweats for a nice pair of blue jeans. It’s also important to remember to keep the graphics on your hoodie professional; don’t want anyone getting a call from Susan in HR.
#2 Hoodie & Pencil Skirt Combo
Girls night out… but comfy! When curating a sexy yet subtle and comfortable outfit, it’s always important to think about balance. If you are wearing a baggy top it’s best to pair with a fitted bottom and visa versa. Depending on the venue, you could possibly get away with a sneaker pairing, however staying true to your sexiness and rocking a pump/heel always gets brownie points in my opinion!
#3 Basic Tee W/ Layered Jackets & Trousers
The happiness you receive from a fresh white tee is unmatched! The story was told so eloquently back in 2004 and not much has changed (Dem Franchize Boyz).
A basic tee can be worn on almost any occasion, due to the versatility of dressing it up or dressing it down. In light of the recent winter wonderland going on outside, I decided to show you how to properly layer, while incorporating a basic white tee.
Layering is pretty simple, but it also requires balance. You want to start your base small (fitted) and gradually get bigger (baggy) layering up. My layering goes as follows: basic tee, cropped jacket, oversized jacket, and loose fit teddy coat. Simple yet effective.
